State Team Championships.

The State Team Championships are now a popular event on the SA Poker Calendar. They were first held in 2021 when six teams of six players competed in a winner take all event. It was played in a ‘Shootout’ format, where one player from each team was placed on each of the six tables. All six winners from the six tables then formed the Final Table and competed until there was a winner.

In 2024, the concept was tried again as part of the SA Poker Awards Night. This time there were eight teams of eight players. The winner was Jon Stark from the MatchrooM team.
